Iran: Land of Great Kings, Shahs and Ayatollahs John Osborne Thursday 30 May 2019

The first part of the lecture illustrates the mighty Persian Empire of the Great Kings such as Darius. The second part traces the development through the Islamic period of the architecture of mosques and palaces.

John Osborne graduated in Classics at Cambridge and taught classical subjects at Marleborough College. He worked for several years for the British Council in Iran and Turkey.
