Welcome to The Arts Society Ballinger

We are a small, friendly member society of The Arts Society. We meet monthly for illustrated art-based lectures on a wide variety of subjects by professional speakers in their specialist fields. It is usually possible to welcome members' friends and visitors to attend as guests.

As our meetings are in the evening we provide the chance for those who work during the day to join us too. Above all we want to offer interest and enjoyment in a convivial environment. We organize visits to art galleries, museums and places of special historic or architectural interest. We are involved in activities such as Young Arts and Heritage Volunteers.

Our next lecture at 8pm on 25th April will be:

Contemporary Artists: Anthony Gormley and Anish Kapor

They are amonst the most well known sculptors working in Britain today. The lecture looks at examples of both artist's work and explores the common ground between them and the differences in style, technique and themes.

Rosalind Whyte studied at Goldsmith and Birkbeck College. Experienced guide at Tate Britain, Tate Modern, The Royal Academy and Greenwich. Lectures at Tate and the Dulwich Picture Gallery.
